Product description

This 80mm sinking minnow is built for anglers who want a jerkbait that stays in the strike zone. The slim, baitfish profile and internal weight system give it a tight, darting action on the twitch and a slow, controlled fall on the pause, which triggers bass that are keying on wounded shad or shiners.

Because it sinks rather than suspends, you can work it through different depths on the same retrieve, making it a solid choice for largemouth around laydowns and grass edges or smallmouth over rock and gravel. Twin treble hooks give it a serious hookup ratio once a bass commits.

How to fish it

  1. Cast past the target area and let the bait sink to the depth you want to fish.
  2. Use short, sharp rod twitches to make the bait dart side to side.
  3. Pause between twitch series and let the bait sink slightly, this is when most strikes happen.
  4. Vary retrieve speed and pause length until you find what the bass want that day.

Frequently asked

The 80mm size works well for both largemouth and smallmouth bass and mimics common baitfish forage like shad and shiners.

Brighter, high contrast colors like the orange shown here show up better in stained or murky water, while more natural or translucent patterns work well in clear water.

A medium action spinning or casting rod with 8 to 12 pound fluorocarbon or braid with a fluorocarbon leader gives good action and solid hooksets.

It performs well in spring and fall when bass are chasing baitfish in the mid to shallow water column, and works year round on suspended fish near cover.
