Product description

This slender sandeel-profile jerkbait is built to imitate a fleeing baitfish on the surface and just below it. The long, tapered body and weighted tail section give it a tight, erratic dart-and-glide action on the twitch, then a slow roll back to the surface on the pause. That combination of flash and hesitation is what triggers reaction strikes from bass keying on baitfish.

Available in two sizes, it covers open water situations where bass are chasing shad or other baitfish near the surface. Work it over grass flats, points, and around schooling fish for largemouth, or use the smaller size around rock and current for smallmouth. It floats at rest, so pauses can be as long as the bite calls for.

How to fish it

  1. Cast beyond the target zone and let the bait settle before starting your retrieve.
  2. Use sharp rod twitches with slack line to make the bait dart side to side.
  3. Vary pause length between twitches, bass often hit as it sits still or starts to rise.
  4. Fish it around baitfish schools, grass edges, or current breaks where bass ambush prey near the surface.

Frequently asked

The 173mm size is a good all-around choice for most largemouth and smallmouth situations. Step up to the 208mm when targeting larger bass or fishing bigger baitfish patterns.

Monofilament or fluorocarbon in the 10-15 lb range gives good action without over-restricting the glide. Braid with a fluorocarbon leader works well for long casts and better hooksets.

Yes. Lighter, more translucent patterns work well in clear water, while patterns with more contrast or flash help in stained conditions where bass rely more on vibration and silhouette.

It shines during spring and fall when bass are actively feeding on baitfish near the surface, but it can also produce during summer low-light periods.
