Product description

This sinking minnow is built for anglers who want a bait that gets down fast and holds its line in current or wind. The slim profile and internal weight system give it a tight, erratic wobble on the retrieve and a subtle roll on the pause, mimicking a dying or fleeing baitfish. The reflective foil finish and scale pattern throw flash from every angle, which helps draw strikes in stained water or low light.

It works well for largemouth around laydowns, dock pilings, and deeper grass edges where a subsurface bait needs to stay in the strike zone longer. Smallmouth respond to the erratic jerk-pause retrieve along rock points and channel edges. Because it sinks, you can count it down to match the depth bass are holding at, then work it back with twitches and pauses.

How to fish it

  1. Cast past the target area (dock, laydown, rock point) and let the bait sink to the desired depth by counting it down.
  2. Use a jerk-jerk-pause cadence, letting the bait glide and roll during the pause where most strikes occur.
  3. Slow the retrieve in cold water or when bass are less active, and speed it up when fish are chasing.
  4. Watch your line on the fall and pause phases since many bass hit as the bait settles or sits still.

Frequently asked

The 95mm/28g size works well for finesse jerkbait presentations and pressured fish, while the 120mm/41g size casts farther and suits larger bass or when you need more flash and profile.

Choose brighter, high-contrast finishes like the pink/silver shown here for stained water, and switch to more natural silver or shad patterns in clear conditions.

A medium to medium-heavy fast-action rod paired with 10-15 lb fluorocarbon or braid with a fluorocarbon leader gives good control over the jerk-pause action and enough sensitivity to detect strikes on the fall.

It performs well in cooler water during spring and fall transitions, and also works in summer around structure in low light or overcast conditions when bass are actively feeding.
