This sinking minnow is built for anglers who need to cover water fast and get a bait in front of bass holding deep or off structure. The weighted, streamlined body casts a long way and sinks on a controlled fall, giving you a subtle rolling action on the retrieve and a natural glide on the pause. The through-wire construction and strong trebles hold up to hard hooksets and repeated strikes.

Available in three sizes so you can match forage from small baitfish to larger shad. Fish it around drop-offs, points, and river mouths where bass ambush baitfish suspended in the water column. Works equally well as a searching bait on long casts or worked slowly through deeper holes in cooler water.

How to fish it

  1. Cast past the target area and let the bait sink to the desired depth before starting the retrieve.
  2. Use a slow twitch-pause cadence, letting the minnow glide and roll on each pause to trigger following fish.
  3. Count down the sink rate on repeat casts to dial in the depth bass are holding at.
  4. Switch to a straight steady retrieve when bass are actively chasing baitfish near the surface or mid-column.

Frequently asked

The 127mm 48g version is the most versatile for largemouth and smallmouth in typical lake and river conditions. Step up to the 142mm or 160mm when targeting bigger fish or matching larger baitfish.

Use natural, translucent patterns in clear water and darker or higher-contrast finishes in stained or murky water where bass rely more on silhouette and vibration.

A medium to medium-heavy jerkbait rod with a 6.3:1 to 7.1:1 reel works well. Fluorocarbon in the 10 to 17 lb range gives good sink rate and sensitivity for the twitch-pause retrieve.

It shines in cooler water during pre-spawn and fall when bass are feeding on baitfish suspended off structure, and anytime you need a long cast to reach deeper holding areas.
