The BearKing MIN-M54s is a compact suspending minnow built for anglers who want a bait that stays in the strike zone. At 65mm and 5g, it runs 0.8 to 1.2m deep and holds its position on the pause instead of rising or sinking away, giving bass extra time to commit.

Its slim minnow profile and tight side-to-side wobble mimic baitfish moving through open water or along cover edges. This makes it a solid choice for largemouth working laydowns and dock pilings, or smallmouth patrolling rocky points and grass lines in clear to lightly stained water.

How to fish it

  1. Cast past the target and reel down to load the bait before starting your retrieve.
  2. Use a twitch-twitch-pause cadence and let the bait hang motionless on the pause.
  3. Slow the retrieve and extend pauses in cold water or when bass are inactive.
  4. Work it parallel to laydowns, docks, and rock edges where bass ambush baitfish.

Frequently asked

Its compact 65mm profile suits both largemouth and smallmouth bass, and works especially well when fish are keyed on smaller baitfish.

A medium-light to medium spinning rod with 6-8 lb fluorocarbon or 10-15 lb braid with a fluorocarbon leader gives good action and castability.

Use natural, translucent patterns in clear water and brighter or more contrasted finishes in stained water so bass can locate the bait more easily.

It performs well from early spring through fall, especially during pre-spawn and fall feeding periods when bass chase baitfish in the upper water column.
