Braided Line
Braided line is made from woven strands of synthetic fiber, usually spectra or dacron. It has very little stretch and a thin diameter for its strength, so you can spool up with a high pound test without adding much bulk to the reel. This gives anglers strong hook sets and better feel for what the lure is doing underwater.
Because braid transmits vibration well, it works great for techniques where bite detection matters, like fishing jigs or heavy cover situations with soft plastics. It also cuts through vegetation better than other lines, which helps when pulling bass out of grass or pads. Many anglers use it as a base line on baitcasting or spinning reels, sometimes paired with a fluorocarbon leader for reduced visibility.
One downside is that braid floats and has no stretch, so it can spook fish in clear water or cause hooks to pull on light bites if you are not careful. A practical tip is to tie on a short fluorocarbon leader using a uni-to-uni or FG knot when fishing clear water or finesse presentations, this keeps the low-stretch benefits while cutting down on visibility.
